Child Safety Standards

At Mary MacKillop Primary School, we believe that ensuring the safety of the students in our care is an integral part of who we are as a Catholic faith community. We adhere to Victorian Child Safe Standards and Ministerial Order No. 1359.

Mary MacKillop Primary School holds the care, safety and wellbeing of children as a central and fundamental responsibility of Catholic education. Our commitment is drawn from and inherent to the teaching and mission of Jesus Christ, with love, justice and the sanctity of each human person at the heart of the Gospel.

We are resolutely committed to ensuring that all those engaged in Catholic education in Mary MacKillop School promotes the inherent dignity of children and young people and their fundamental right to be respected and nurtured in a safe school environment. This is particularly so for the most vulnerable children, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, children from culturally and/or linguistically diverse backgrounds, and children with a disability.

Working with the Diocese of Sale Catholic Education Limited [DOSCEL] Guidelines we use their policies to guide the procedures that are implemented in our school.

If you have any concerns or questions regarding child safety please contact Lize Privitera - Child Safety Champion/Student Support on 8794 5777.
